New Zealand Expands Work Rights for International Students

Exciting update for students aiming to study in New Zealand! Starting November 3, international students will be able to work up to 25 hours per week (previously 20 hours). This change applies to both tertiary and secondary school students.

The update also allows more students including exchange students to work during their studies.

Additionally, the International Education Going for Growth plan will:

  • Improve student visa processes.
  • Offer a new 6 month work visa for some vocational graduates.
  • Boost international student enrolments from 83,400 in 2024 to 105,000 by 2027 and 119,000 by 2034.

If you are considering New Zealand for your studies, it is the perfect time to apply and take advantage of these new opportunities.
