The University of Birmingham has announced a new scholarship programme for Indian students planning to pursue postgraduate studies in the UK from September 2026. The Future Skills Scholarship offers a tuition fee waiver of up to €12,500, approximately ₹13.7 lakh, for selected Master’s and Law courses.
Under the scheme, eligible Indian applicants can receive fee reductions ranging from €9,125 to €12,500, depending on the programme.
To be eligible, applicants must be Indian citizens and secure an offer for an approved full-time programme by 30 April 2026. Students are also required to demonstrate financial capacity to cover remaining tuition and living expenses in the UK. The adjusted tuition fee for the first academic year must be paid by 1 November 2026.
University officials said the scholarship aligns with the strategy of the institution to attract global talent and build advanced skills in areas such as data, public health and sustainability. The initiative also strengthens the academic engagement of universities with Indian students while improving access to globally recognised education.
Meanwhile, several other UK universities have also announced scholarship opportunities for Indian students for the 2026 intake, offering comparable funding support across multiple disciplines.
